In line with its philosophy of impacting positively on its operational environment, Krisoral Group of Companies has completed and handed over a two-storey school block, to the Kings Ambassadors Seminary, Atani, in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The project built under the Corporate Social Responsibility Programme of the company, is geared towards contributing to the economic, social, welfare and infrastructural development of her host community.

Chris Oranu Chidume, Group Managing Director, Krisoral Group of Companies, at the handing over ceremony, held at the school complex, emphasised the importance of education in the socio-economic development of a State.

He observed that the prosperity of any nation depends largely on its investment in a sound, robust and functional educational system. He noted that achieving the Universal Basic Education is one of the outcomes of the United Nations Millennium Summit, which all the member States, including Nigeria were committed to strive and achieve by 2015. This is articulated in what we know as The Millennium Development Goals.

He however decried the new wave of prosperity theology, being preached in some churches, particularly the new generation churches, which he observed, has created a false impression in the minds of the youths that they can get something out of nothing, “a case of reaping where they have not sown”.

Consequently, emphasis is no longer on hard work, perseverance, integrity, and righteousness, but on miracles, giving the impression that one can become stupendously rich without any visible means of livelihood or handiwork.

In his words, “Dignity of labour has lost its taste; successes are no longer measured in terms of knowledge, experience and hard work. In fact, there is a disintegration of our value system.

“It is this mindset and false belief that life is all about riches, no matter how acquired that is partly responsible for the low male school enrolment; exodus of our youths to Europe, by trekking through Sahara Desert routes, a misadventure that has led to uncountable deaths of many of our youths; and increase in criminal activities, like robbery, kidnapping, advance fee fraud and online scams.
